Allcargo Terminals, operator of India’s largest CFS–ICD network, has received a 10-year extension from the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) to continue operations at its Container Freight Station (CFS) at JNPT, Nhava Sheva. The facility is operated through Speedy Multimodes, a 100% subsidiary of Allcargo Terminals.
The extension reinforces JNPA’s continued confidence in Allcargo Terminals’ operational capabilities and underlines Speedy Multimodes’ role as a strategic, long-standing CFS within India’s busiest port ecosystem. Located just 5 km from JNPT, the CFS offers customers faster turnaround times, improved operational efficiency, and cost optimisation.
One of the oldest CFS facilities at JNPT, Speedy Multimodes spans 53 acres, including 8.5 acres of warehousing space, and has a handling capacity of 180,000 TEUs. The facility is set to undergo infrastructure upgrades in partnership with JNPA, aimed at further enhancing capacity and operational efficiency. It also features dedicated zones for special and over-dimensional cargo (ODC), positioning it as a preferred hub for complex cargo handling at JNPT.
Shri Gaurav Dayal, IAS, Chairman of JNPA, said the contract extension reflects JNPA’s confidence in Allcargo Terminals’ contribution to port-led logistics efficiency. He added that the planned upgrades would support JNPA’s vision of becoming the first Indian port to handle 10 million TEUs by 2027.
Ashish Chandna, CEO, Allcargo Terminals, said the extension reaffirms the trust placed in the company’s operational capabilities and strengthens its role in supporting EXIM trade and port operations at JNPT. He highlighted that the CFS’s proximity to the port enables faster cargo movement and positions the company to support the next phase of cargo growth.
In addition to Speedy Multimodes, Allcargo Terminals operates another facility near JNPT, where it has recently nearly doubled capacity from 190,000 TEUs to 360,000 TEUs annually. This expansion aligns with the company’s three-year strategic plan focused on scale, digitisation, and infrastructure enhancement to strengthen India’s EXIM trade logistics network.
