Amazon India has expanded its air cargo network to cover Northeast India, aiming to improve delivery speed, reliability, and connectivity across the region. The move is part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its logistics infrastructure and enhance service for both customers and sellers in emerging markets.

With the expansion, Amazon’s air freight services now connect key hubs in Northeast India to major national distribution centers, enabling faster movement of goods ranging from e-commerce packages to time-sensitive shipments. Industry analysts noted that the development could help local businesses reach national and international markets more efficiently.

Amazon stated that the regional air cargo extension will support last-mile delivery improvements, reduce transit times, and bolster supply chain resilience in areas that have historically faced logistical challenges due to terrain and infrastructure limitations.

The company’s investment in air freight infrastructure in Northeast India aligns with its ongoing push to expand fulfillment capacity, adopt technology-driven solutions, and meet growing consumer demand in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Logistics experts expect that this expansion could also encourage other operators to enhance connectivity in the region, further strengthening Northeast India’s integration with India’s broader trade and distribution networks.
