APM Terminals Bahrain, the operator of Khalifa Bin Salman Port (KBSP), has announced the implementation of new procedures aimed at simplifying and accelerating the entry of GCC-based cargo and freight transport into the port.
The initiative, introduced in close coordination with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT), comes at a time of increased cargo volumes and growing demand across regional supply chains.
The newly introduced measures are designed to enhance cargo flow, ensure the continuity of Bahrain’s national supply chain, and ease current capacity pressures. By facilitating the direct integration of GCC-based transport into the port’s operational framework, the move is expected to deliver improved flexibility and efficiency for both regional trade partners and domestic businesses.
Officials confirmed that the streamlined access procedures will be subject to periodic review by relevant authorities to ensure continued effectiveness and regulatory compliance. All vehicles and transport operators will still be required to adhere strictly to established safety, security, and operational standards.
APM Terminals Bahrain has also extended full support to stakeholders and logistics providers, ensuring proper coordination and seamless implementation of the new access framework.
Reaffirming its commitment to operational excellence, the company stated that Khalifa Bin Salman Port will continue to serve as a critical gateway for the Kingdom’s economy. The collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications underscores a proactive approach to managing capacity, strengthening resilience, and enabling the secure and efficient movement of goods across Bahrain’s borders.
