Astral Aviation has strengthened East Africa’s air cargo connectivity with the launch of a new freighter service linking Nairobi and Asmara, expanding regional trade and logistics access across the continent.

The new route is aimed at improving cargo movement between East African markets by providing dedicated air freight capacity for general cargo, perishables, pharmaceuticals and time-sensitive shipments.

Astral Aviation said the service will enhance regional supply chain efficiency and support growing trade flows between Kenya, Eritrea and neighbouring African markets through faster and more reliable cargo transportation.

The expansion reflects rising demand for intra-African air cargo services as businesses seek improved logistics connectivity, shorter transit times and stronger regional trade integration.

The airline continues to expand its African network amid increasing investments in regional logistics infrastructure and growing opportunities in cross-border trade and e-commerce cargo movements.
