Charter Link Logistics Group (CTL), a global leader in LCL ocean cargo consolidation, has officially launched its first office in the United Kingdom, marking a significant milestone in the company’s international expansion strategy.
The newly established entity, Charter Link (UK) Consolidation Limited, has commenced full-scale operations, reinforcing CTL’s commitment to strengthening its presence across key global markets.
Announcing the expansion, Michael C. Tsui, Group Executive Director of CTL, described the UK entry as a strategic move aimed at redefining consolidation services in the region. “Charter Link’s entry into the UK market is a strategic step to reshape the landscape of the consolidation industry. We are bringing a pragmatic, focused, and strategically efficient LCL product designed to benefit the entire freight forwarding and logistics community in the UK,” he said.
The UK operations will be spearheaded by John Berry, an industry veteran with decades of Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) expertise and deep insight into the UK freight market. Berry emphasized the company’s vision of building a dynamic and collaborative workspace. “We’re building something special here—a modern, open-plan working environment in the heart of Essex in Chelmsford, underpinned by a strong company ethos and a positive, forward-thinking attitude,” he stated.
Located in Chelmsford, the new office enhances CTL’s service capabilities in the UK while strengthening connectivity for freight forwarders and logistics partners.
With a robust global network spanning 69 international locations, more than 1,500 employees, and over 200 agent partners worldwide, CTL continues to expand its footprint across Europe and beyond. The UK launch represents a pivotal addition to its global operations, ensuring enhanced connectivity, operational efficiency, and service excellence for the international freight forwarding community.
