Chennai Container Terminal Pvt. Ltd. (CCTPL), operated by DP World at Chennai Port, recorded its highest-ever container handling volume in the past decade during September 2026, handling 89,743 TEUs across 36 vessels.

The milestone marks a significant achievement for the terminal and reflects the coordinated efforts of the terminal operator, Customs and the wider port stakeholder community.

The Chairperson of the Chennai Port Authority appreciated the terminal’s performance and acknowledged the contribution and support extended by Customs and other stakeholders in achieving the record.

The Port Authority also highlighted recent initiatives, including Port SETU and other trade-promotion measures, aimed at strengthening trade facilitation and connectivity. These initiatives are expected to support the movement of additional business and cargo through Chennai Port, further enhancing its role in India’s maritime trade and logistics network.
