China shipowners are increasingly placing container vessel orders with domestic shipyards as demand for boxships continues to rise amid expanding global trade and fleet renewal requirements. Industry sources said local shipbuilders are benefiting from strong order activity driven by the need for modern, fuel-efficient and environmentally compliant vessels.
Chinese shipyards are reportedly securing a growing share of newbuilding contracts due to competitive pricing, large production capacity and advanced shipbuilding capabilities.
