Chowgule SBD Private Limited (EPC Division) has commenced fabrication of the Smart Wellhead Platform – Bhaskar Dhara–Charlie (BD-C) with the successful completion of the Prarambh Pooja and First Steel Cut Ceremony at its Mangaluru Yard on July 9, 2026.

The ceremony was attended by senior representatives from Sun Petrochemicals Private Limited (SunPetro), along with the management and project teams of Chowgule SBD Private Limited.

The traditional Prarambh Pooja was conducted to seek blessings for the safe, timely, and successful execution of the project, followed by the First Steel Cut Ceremony, which officially marked the start of fabrication activities for the offshore platform.

The BD-C platform represents the second offshore wellhead platform awarded to Chowgule SBD by SunPetro, highlighting the growing collaboration between the two companies. The latest contract follows the successful delivery of the Bhaskar Dhara–Alpha (BD-A) offshore platform from Chowgule SBD’s Mangaluru Yard last year.

The commencement of fabrication reinforces Chowgule SBD’s capabilities in offshore engineering and fabrication while reflecting SunPetro’s continued confidence in the company’s project execution expertise.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and refreshments, marking the beginning of another key offshore infrastructure project for the Mangaluru-based fabrication yard.
