CMA CGM has announced a major upgrade to its Asia to West Africa Central Range (WAX) service, introducing a new operational structure aimed at improving connectivity, reliability, and capacity across the trade lane.
Under the revised network, the WAX service will now operate through three dedicated loops. Two new services — WAX1 and WAX2 — have been launched, complementing and strengthening the existing WAX3 service.
The reconfiguration is designed to respond to growing market demand in the West African Central Range, while delivering improved schedule reliability, reduced transit times, and enhanced service coverage. CMA CGM said the new structure will enable more efficient cargo flows and seamless connectivity between Asia and key West African markets.
Service rotations are as follows:
WAX1:
Qingdao – Ningbo – Nansha – Shekou – Singapore – Colombo – Abidjan – Lekki – Kribi – Colombo – Vung Tau
WAX2:
Qingdao – Ningbo – Nansha – Tanjung Pelepas – Tema – Abidjan – Pointe Noire – Tanjung Pelepas
WAX3:
Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Lome – Apapa – Onne – Cotonou
