CMA CGM has announced the enhancement of its CAGEMA service, strengthening connectivity between Canada, the United States and Latin America with the addition of a direct call at Montreal.

The upgraded service will provide expanded access to the Canadian market while maintaining its existing call at Saint John, New Brunswick. It will offer direct connections from both Canadian ports to key Caribbean destinations including Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

CAGEMA will also ensure wider coverage across Latin America through the Kingston hub, alongside global connectivity via New York, linking Canadian shippers to markets in India, Türkiye, the Mediterranean, Oceania and the Middle East through multiple weekly services.

The service is designed to deliver fixed weekly sailings, calling Montreal on Sundays and Saint John on Fridays, enabling improved cargo planning and operational efficiency. It will also provide shorter transit times for imports into Montreal from Latin America, offering a faster and more reliable alternative to routes via New York.

The standalone service will be operated weekly using a fleet of five vessels deployed by CMA CGM.
