CMA CGM has strengthened its push toward cleaner maritime operations with the naming of its latest dual-fuel methanol vessel, the CMA CGM ANTIGONE. The ceremony marks a notable step in the Group’s ongoing energy transition strategy.
The vessel will be commanded by Captain Zhang Zequan. Harriet Wu, former Chief Financial Officer of CMA CGM China, was appointed as the ship’s Godmother, adding a symbolic touch to the occasion.
The CMA CGM ANTIGONE is scheduled for deployment on the BEX2 service, connecting Asia, the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Its entry into service is expected to reinforce key trade lanes while supporting the company’s ambition to reduce emissions across its global network.
With this addition to its growing methanol-powered fleet, CMA CGM continues to advance sustainable shipping and strengthen regional connectivity.
