The Minister for Industries, TRB Rajaa, has announced the plan for a State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) industrial estate in Coimbatore during the Tamil Nadu Influence event, organised by Guidance Tamil Nadu and FICCI. The state government is actively working to unlock 60 GW of offshore wind power, presenting opportunities for growth in this sector.

On December 14, 2023, a significant development took place as 27 MSMEs signed agreements with the state government, committing to invest Rs 1,241 crore in the district. This move signals a positive stride in fostering industrial and economic development.

Additionally, the establishment of a facility in Coimbatore by Tamil Nadu Engineering and Innovation Enterprise is in the pipeline, and there are expectations for a multi-modal logistics park to emerge. As part of the hub-and-spoke model for centres of excellence, a spoke centre is slated to be established in the city, enhancing its capabilities and significance in the industrial landscape.
