In a significant boost to India’s automotive export logistics, the Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), in collaboration with Honda and global logistics provider Kintetsu World Express (KWE), has successfully executed the first full-rake export movement of auto components from Inland Container Depot (ICD) Tughlakabad to Kattupalli Port on April 10, 2026.

This landmark movement marks a major step forward in strengthening India’s multimodal logistics ecosystem, particularly in supporting the country’s rapidly growing automobile export sector. The full-rake operation—where an entire train is dedicated to a single shipment—ensures faster transit times, reduced handling, and enhanced reliability for high-value cargo such as auto components.

The cargo originated from ICD Tughlakabad, one of North India’s key dry ports, and was seamlessly transported via rail to Kattupalli Port near Chennai, a strategically important gateway for exports to global markets. The operation underscores the increasing shift toward rail-based logistics solutions, which offer both cost efficiency and environmental benefits compared to road transport.

By leveraging integrated rail-port connectivity, CONCOR continues to play a pivotal role in enabling efficient cargo movement from inland manufacturing hubs to coastal export terminals. The collaboration with Honda and KWE highlights the growing trust of global automotive and logistics players in India’s logistics infrastructure and service capabilities.

This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s push to enhance ease of doing business and promote exports through improved logistics efficiency. It also reflects the broader vision of creating a seamless, world-class multimodal transport network that reduces turnaround times and strengthens supply chain resilience.

With such initiatives, CONCOR is reinforcing its position as a key enabler in India’s export growth story, particularly in high-value sectors like automobiles, while contributing to the development of a more sustainable and efficient logistics landscape.
