Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), the state-owned logistics and rail transportation company, reported a 6.8% year-on-year decline in net profit to ₹353 crore for the second quarter of FY27, compared with ₹379 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
Revenue from operations increased marginally by 1% to ₹2,379 crore, against ₹2,355 crore a year earlier. EBITDA declined 4.5% to ₹550 crore from ₹576 crore, while the EBITDA margin contracted to 23% from 25%.
The company’s board also declared a second interim dividend of 38%, amounting to ₹1.90 per equity share of ₹5 face value. The total dividend payout will be ₹144.71 crore. November 11, 2026, has been fixed as the record date, with payment scheduled on or after November 20.
CONCOR’s financial performance comes amid sluggish growth in container volumes. The company handled 14.48 lakh TEUs during Q2 FY27, registering a marginal 0.53% increase over 14.4 lakh TEUs in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. EXIM volumes declined 0.1%, while domestic volumes grew 2.43%.
For the first half of FY27, total container volumes increased 4.5%. EXIM and domestic volumes grew 4.6% and 4.2%, respectively.
The first-half performance remains significantly below the company’s FY27 volume growth guidance of 18%. CONCOR has targeted 15% growth in EXIM volumes and 25% growth in domestic volumes for the full financial year.
The guidance was revised upwards by Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Swarup in August, from earlier targets of 9.5% for total volumes, 8% for EXIM and 15% for domestic cargo.
With first-half growth trailing its revised targets, CONCOR will need a substantial acceleration in cargo volumes during the second half of FY27 to achieve its annual growth projections.
CONCOR shares closed at ₹418.95 on the BSE on Tuesday, gaining 1.07% ahead of the earnings announcement.
