Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) has signed an agency agreement with Samudera Shipping Line (India) Pvt. Ltd. to expand shipping services, strengthen overseas connectivity, boost export-import (EXIM) cargo business and develop integrated logistics solutions.

The agreement marks a step towards strengthening CONCOR’s international shipping capabilities by enhancing its connectivity with overseas markets and expanding logistics options for exporters and importers.

CONCOR, a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, operates an extensive network of inland container depots, container freight stations and multimodal logistics facilities. The company plays a key role in facilitating containerised cargo movement through rail-based transportation and integrated logistics services.

The agreement is expected to support CONCOR’s efforts to expand its shipping business by strengthening the links between inland cargo origins, Indian ports and international shipping networks. Greater coordination between inland transportation and maritime services can provide customers with additional logistics options and improve the integration of different stages of the supply chain.

Samudera Shipping Line, headquartered in Singapore, operates container shipping and related maritime logistics services across regional and international markets. Its association with CONCOR is aligned with the broader objective of strengthening shipping connectivity and supporting the movement of EXIM cargo.

The collaboration comes amid increasing demand for integrated logistics solutions that connect manufacturing and consumption centres with ports and overseas destinations. By expanding its shipping-related activities, CONCOR aims to strengthen its position in the logistics sector and provide more comprehensive services to customers engaged in international trade.

The agreement reinforces the importance of collaboration between inland logistics operators and shipping companies in improving cargo connectivity and supporting India’s growing EXIM trade.
