Starting in March, COSCO Shipping’s 20,000 TEU container ships will begin regular calls at the Italian port of La Spezia.
The Chinese liner recently announced this news, confirming the inclusion of four units of these types of vessels in the rotation of the Asia Mediterranean Service (AEM1).
Each ship is approximately 400 meters long.
This decision is in response to the need to adapt to a new normality, driven by the necessity to circumnavigate Africa, leading to the creation of two new independent loops in the Mediterranean, employing larger capacity container ships.
