    Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Ltd.(HCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited launched the First Two Hybrid Electric Catamarans in the series of six hybrid electric catamarans being built for Inland Waterways Authority of India, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Govt of India.

    These vessels, designed to accommodate 50 pax, were launched from the Nazirgunge facility of Hooghly CSL by Smt. Anjana K R (Director, Hooghly CSL & CGM-Design, CSL) in the presence of Shri Sanil Peter, CEO, Hooghly CSL and other senior officials of IWAI, IRS and Hooghly CSL. These state-of-the-art vessels, built with a focus on reducing tailpipe emissions, align with India’s commitment to sustainability.

    The project aims to boost eco-friendly modes of travel while enhancing the experience of India’s scenic waterways. The event marks a significant step towards greener and more efficient inland water transport in India.
