The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) has appointed iWare Supplychain Services Ltd. as the Strategic Alliance Management Operator for its Container Freight Station (CFS) at Kandla Port, marking a significant step in strengthening port-linked logistics infrastructure in the region.
The appointment was formally inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the CWC Kandla CFS earlier in the day, signalling the commencement of a new phase of strategic collaboration between the two organisations.
This development is expected to enhance cargo handling capabilities, improve multimodal connectivity, and facilitate more efficient trade operations in and around Kandla—one of India’s key maritime gateways.
Senior officials present at the occasion included Shri B. Nirmal, GGM (Commercial), CWC Corporate Office, New Delhi; Shri J. Navukkarasu, Regional Manager, Ahmedabad Region, CWC; Shri Dheeraj Kumar, DGM, Ahmedabad; Shri Krishna Tanwar, Managing Director, iWare Supplychain Services Ltd.; Shri Vikas Tanwar, Joint Managing Director, iWare Supplychain Services Ltd.; and Shri Mukesh Rathod, Additional Commissioner, Kandla Customs, who attended as Special Guest.
A formal ceremony is scheduled later in the day at Ramada Gandhidham, where senior officials, trade partners, and industry stakeholders are expected to participate. The programme will include corporate presentations, addresses by leadership from both organisations, and felicitation of dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri B. Nirmal noted that the appointment represents a key milestone in strengthening logistics infrastructure and operational coordination at Kandla, aligning with CWC’s broader focus on enhancing service capabilities across strategic cargo hubs.
Shri J. Navukkarasu highlighted that the initiative would enable smoother operational integration and foster better coordination across rail, road, warehousing, and port-linked services, thereby strengthening the regional logistics ecosystem.
Shri Dheeraj Kumar emphasised the operational significance of such partnerships in improving efficiency, responsiveness, and service delivery standards at major cargo gateways.
Shri Krishna Tanwar, Managing Director of iWare Supplychain Services Ltd., described the appointment as a major milestone for the company, underscoring its commitment to integrated, efficient, and sustainable logistics operations. He added that iWare views this role as a long-term responsibility to support the development of robust port-linked multimodal logistics at Kandla.
The partnership is expected to enhance CFS operations, streamline cargo movement, and support growing trade demands through better integration of logistics infrastructure in the region.
