DHL Global Forwarding has expanded its trans-Pacific air cargo network with the launch of a dedicated freighter operation connecting Vietnam and the United States, reinforcing its commitment to supporting growing trade flows between Southeast Asia and North America. The new service is designed to provide additional cargo capacity, improved transit reliability, and greater flexibility for exporters shipping high-value and time-sensitive goods.

The dedicated freighter operation comes amid rising demand for air freight services from Vietnam, which has emerged as a key global manufacturing hub for electronics, apparel, footwear, furniture, and consumer products. As multinational companies continue to diversify their supply chains, Vietnam has experienced significant growth in exports to the U.S., increasing the need for reliable and efficient air cargo solutions.

The new service offers customers faster transit times and enhanced schedule consistency compared with traditional belly cargo capacity, which can fluctuate depending on passenger flight schedules. By operating dedicated freighters, DHL Global Forwarding aims to ensure stable capacity for customers during peak shipping seasons and periods of high market demand.

The operation also strengthens DHL’s integrated logistics network by linking Vietnam with its global air freight hubs and onward distribution network across the United States. Customers will benefit from improved shipment visibility, end-to-end logistics solutions, customs expertise, and seamless connections to inland destinations through DHL’s multimodal transport services.

The additional capacity is expected to support a wide range of industries, including technology, automotive, healthcare, retail, and e-commerce, where speed and reliability are critical to maintaining resilient supply chains. The service is particularly suited for high-value, temperature-sensitive, and urgent shipments that require expedited transportation.

DHL Global Forwarding said the new Vietnam–U.S. freighter operation reflects its strategy of investing in strategic trade lanes where customer demand continues to grow. The expansion also aligns with broader market trends as manufacturers increasingly shift production to Southeast Asia and seek dependable logistics partners capable of supporting complex international supply chains.

With the launch of the dedicated freighter service, DHL further strengthens its position in the Asia-Pacific air cargo market while enhancing connectivity between Vietnam and the United States, helping businesses respond more effectively to evolving global trade requirements.
