DP World handled 64.27 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) across its global terminal network during the first nine months of 2026, with growth in Asia Pacific, India and the Americas offset by declining throughput across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The company’s third-quarter throughput stood at 21.5 million TEUs, compared with approximately 24 million TEUs in the corresponding quarter of 2025, reflecting a slowdown in overall container handling volumes.
Asia Pacific and India remained the largest contributors to DP World’s global volumes, handling 34.35 million TEUs during the January-September period, an increase of 3.1% from 33.32 million TEUs recorded a year earlier. The Americas and Australia also reported growth, with throughput rising 3.9% to 10.8 million TEUs.
However, performance across Europe, the Middle East and Africa was weaker. The region handled 19.12 million TEUs during the first nine months, compared with 25.7 million TEUs in the same period of 2025. Third-quarter volumes in the region fell to approximately 6 million TEUs from 8.8 million TEUs a year earlier.
At Jebel Ali Port, DP World’s flagship facility in Dubai, throughput reached approximately 3.5 million TEUs during the nine months, including 403,000 TEUs in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, DP World’s consolidated terminals handled 35.4 million TEUs during the first nine months of 2026, down from 41.7 million TEUs in the corresponding period last year.
The results underline the divergent performance across DP World’s global terminal portfolio, with resilient growth in Asian and American markets contrasting with significant volume declines in other regions amid geopolitical uncertainties and continuing disruptions to global supply chains.
