Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has achieved another significant milestone by becoming the fastest among all Major Ports in India to cross the 50 Million Metric Tons (MMT) cargo handling mark during the financial year 2026–27.

The Port reached the prestigious 50 MMT milestone on July 16, 2026, accomplishing the feat 19 days earlier than in the previous financial year. During FY 2025–26, DPA crossed the 50 MMT mark on August 3, 2025, underscoring the Port’s accelerated growth and operational excellence.

The achievement reflects DPA’s consistent focus on enhancing operational efficiency, expanding world-class infrastructure, improving multimodal connectivity, and fostering strong collaboration with trade stakeholders. The early attainment of the milestone further consolidates DPA’s position as India’s leading Major Port and highlights its vital role in supporting the nation’s maritime trade and logistics sector.

Commenting on the achievement, Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman, Deendayal Port Authority, congratulated all stakeholders for their collective contribution towards this record-breaking performance.

He acknowledged the unwavering support and dedication of port users, exporters, importers, shipping lines, vessel agents, stevedores, Customs House Agents (CHAs), terminal operators, trade associations, truck drivers, DPA officials, employees, shramiks, and the entire Port fraternity, whose coordinated efforts have enabled DPA to achieve this historic milestone.

With cargo volumes continuing to grow and operational performance setting new benchmarks, DPA Kandla remains at the forefront of India’s port sector, reinforcing its commitment to facilitating efficient trade, strengthening supply chains, and contributing to the country’s vision of becoming a global maritime and logistics hub.
