ECS Group and Air Senegal have marked seven years of cooperation in air cargo, highlighting a partnership that has supported the airline’s cargo sales and commercial development across its international network.
The collaboration has focused on strengthening Air Senegal’s cargo business by expanding access to freight forwarders, improving market coverage and developing new cargo opportunities. ECS Group has supported the carrier through its cargo general sales and representation activities.
The partnership comes as Air Senegal continues to develop its role as an important air connectivity provider in West Africa. Dakar’s position as a regional gateway gives the airline opportunities to serve cargo flows between Africa, Europe and other international markets.
Over the past seven years, the two companies have worked to identify cargo opportunities across a range of sectors, including general freight, perishables, pharmaceuticals and other time-sensitive shipments. The partnership has also supported the development of relationships with freight forwarders and cargo customers.
ECS Group’s global cargo sales network provides airlines with local market expertise and commercial support, helping carriers increase cargo revenue and strengthen relationships with the forwarding community.
For Air Senegal, maintaining a strong cargo sales network is increasingly important as demand for air freight in West Africa develops. Growing trade in agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods and manufactured products is creating additional opportunities for air cargo operators.
The partnership also reflects the growing importance of cargo as a complementary revenue stream for passenger airlines. Efficient utilisation of available belly capacity can help carriers generate additional revenue while providing exporters and freight forwarders with greater access to international markets.
Both companies are expected to continue exploring opportunities to expand cargo volumes and improve market reach as Air Senegal develops its network.
The seven-year milestone underscores the long-term nature of the relationship between ECS Group and Air Senegal and their continued focus on strengthening the airline’s cargo business.
