Ellerman City Liners has announced that ViaSea will take slots on its Baltex service, a key container shipping route connecting Northern Europe ports with the Baltic region.

The move is aimed at enhancing service flexibility, increasing cargo capacity, and improving schedule reliability for shippers operating in the Baltic and Northern European markets. ViaSea’s participation will allow Ellerman City Liners to better optimize vessel utilization while offering customers additional booking options and streamlined cargo handling.

“Partnering with ViaSea on the Baltex service strengthens our network and provides shippers with more capacity and improved transit options,” said an Ellerman City Liners spokesperson. “This collaboration aligns with our strategy to deliver reliable, efficient, and customer-focused shipping solutions.”

The Baltex service connects major ports including Hamburg, Rotterdam, Gdansk, and Baltic terminals, providing vital links for industries ranging from automotive and chemicals to consumer goods and machinery. The addition of ViaSea slots is expected to boost frequency and operational resilience, especially during peak cargo seasons.

Industry analysts noted that such slot-sharing agreements are increasingly common in container shipping, allowing carriers to manage capacity efficiently, reduce operational costs, and enhance service coverage without deploying additional vessels.

The integration of ViaSea into the Baltex rotation is effective immediately, with bookings now open for cargo shipments on the enhanced service.
