Global logistics giant FedEx Corporation is investing $100 million in its first global advanced capability community (ACC) centre that it opened in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

The new ACC, which has been set up by its subsidiary FedEx Express, aims to leverage India’s talent to support digital transformation and innovation.

FedEx said the ACC has been envisioned as a hub for technological and digital innovation, aligned with the Telangana government’s strategic emphasis on nurturing a thriving pool of tech talent.“The first FedEx ACC becomes a pivotal step in the company’s global strategy, initiating a network of such communities worldwide. Furthermore, it will fuel the company’s growth and expansion and bring added value to the global supply chain ecosystem,” FedEx said.

Though the company did not provide any hiring numbers or capacity details of the new ACC, it said that in addition to boosting employment opportunities, the ACC will contribute to the development of new capabilities and meeting the technological requirements of FedEx operations worldwide.

FedEx Corporation president & CEO Raj Subramaniam said the investment in talent and innovation was part of the company’s broader plan to drive excellence and deliver unparalleled smart logistics solutions worldwide. “By leveraging an exceptional talent pool, we are accelerating digital transformation and delivering innovative solutions to customers,” he added.
