Units are responding to a fire below deck of the container ship ONE Henry Hudson berthed at Yusen Container Terminal at the Port of Los Angeles on Nov 21. On scene are Los Angeles Fire Department, Long Beach Fire Department, Los Angeles Port Police, and U.S. Coast Guard, the Los of Angeles authority and LAFD said.

A waterside safety zone around the ship has been established and the State Route 47 has been closed due to smoke and visibility concerns.  No injuries have been reported and all crew members are accounted for.

Four of the Port’s seven container terminals have suspended operations.

Federal, City and Port officials were working cooperatively to extinguish the fire while monitoring local air quality. LAFD recommends local residents stay indoors with windows closed.
