The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has reported that around five tonnes of bunker fuel overflowed yesterday during a bunkering operation from the receiving Bahamas-flagged bulk carrier, Ines Corrado.
The accident took place off Changi with the MPA saying today that thanks to patrol craft spraying dispersants there was no longer any sign of the oil slick.
Malaysian authorities have been alerted to keep a lookout for oil sightings.
The 2012-built kamsarmax is owned by Monaco-based Gestion Maritime, while the identity of the bunker supplier has not yet been revealed.
