Rinkesh Roy, a former Chairman of state-owned Paradip Port Authority, has been named President of Mumbai-listed JSW Infrastructure Ltd.
Roy, as Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer, ran state-owned Paradip Port Authority on deputation from Indian Railways for five years, between 2015 and 2020.
During his time at Paradip Port Authority, Roy also held additional charge of Chairman of three other state-owned ports located on the eastern coast – Visakhapatnam Port Authority , V O Chidambaranar Port Authority and Kamarajar Port Ltd – as well as Chairman of Dredging Corporation of India Ltd.
After his tenure at Paradip Port Authority ended, Roy returned to Indian Railways and was posted as Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road Division, under East Coast Railway. Two years later, he opted for voluntary retirement from Railways and was relieved from service on 25 July 2023.
Roy has been named the President of JSW Infrastructure after the one-year cooling period for government officers to join the private sector ended on 24 July, a source with knowledge of the development said.
Roy’s appointment was cleared by the board of JSW Infrastructure on 1 August.
