The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (G E Shipping) on Friday said that it has signed a contract to sell its 2005-built Medium Range Product Tanker, Jag Pooja, of about 48,539 deadweight tonnage (DWT) to an unaffiliated third party. The delivery of the vessel to the buyer is expected by Q3 FY26.
This marks one of the recent fleet adjustments by the company as it manages its portfolio of vessels in line with market conditions. Jag Pooja has been part of the company’s product tanker segment for nearly two decades.
Current fleet composition
Following the sale of Jag Pooja, G E Shipping will continue to operate a fleet of 40 vessels. The fleet comprises 26 tankers, including five crude tankers, 17 product tankers, and four LPG carriers, as well as 14 dry bulk carriers, consisting of two Capesize, 10 Kamsarmax, and two Supramax vessels. The total DWT of the fleet stands at 3.21 million tonnes.
Planned fleet changes
In addition to the sale of Jag Pooja, the company has contracted to buy one secondhand Suezmax crude tanker and to sell another secondhand Suezmax crude tanker in Q2 FY26. All three transactions are expected to be completed by Q3 FY26.
