GAIL (India) Limited has issued a tender to procure liquefied natural gas (LNG) for delivery in March as the company seeks to secure additional supplies amid concerns over potential disruptions in the global energy market.

Industry sources said the tender aims to ensure uninterrupted gas availability for domestic consumers, including power plants, fertilizer units, and industrial users. The move comes at a time when geopolitical tensions and supply uncertainties are impacting global LNG flows and pricing dynamics.

Market analysts noted that Indian energy companies are increasingly turning to spot LNG purchases to bridge supply gaps and manage fluctuating demand. By securing additional cargoes, GAIL aims to stabilize supply and mitigate the impact of potential disruptions on the country’s energy security.
