    Dr. Felix Neumann, Ambassador of Germany to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, paid an official visit to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), engaging in high-level discussions aimed at strengthening maritime cooperation and unlocking investment potential at the Port of Colombo.

    During the visit, Ambassador Neumann met with Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake, Chairman of SLPA, along with members of the Authority’s senior management team. The discussions focused on advancing development opportunities at the Port of Colombo, particularly in attracting foreign investment, enhancing port infrastructure, and boosting operational capabilities across the maritime and logistics sectors.

    The German delegation, which included representatives from the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka and key stakeholders from Germany’s maritime industry, expressed strong interest in exploring avenues for collaboration and long-term engagement with Sri Lanka’s port sector.

    Both sides also deliberated on potential joint initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, fostering innovation, and supporting capacity expansion at the Port of Colombo, reinforcing its position as a leading hub in the region.

    The visit underscores growing economic and maritime ties between Germany and Sri Lanka, with a shared focus on sustainable development and modernisation of port infrastructure.
