Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU), has been recognised by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) India for its significant contribution to strengthening the MSME ecosystem supporting indigenous warship construction and advancing the Government of India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.

The award was presented under the Aatmanirbharta category at the 18th edition of the Dun & Bradstreet PSUs & Government Summit, held at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.

The recognition acknowledges GRSE’s sustained efforts to integrate Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) into its shipbuilding ecosystem, enhancing localisation and boosting India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities. By fostering partnerships with industry stakeholders across the country, the shipyard has significantly expanded MSME participation in the construction of advanced warships and vessels for the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, central and state government organisations, as well as friendly foreign nations.

The honour also reflects GRSE’s alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision of transforming India from “Local to Global” by promoting innovation, self-reliance and competitiveness within the domestic industrial ecosystem.

As one of India’s premier warship builders, GRSE has developed a strong vendor network that supports the design and construction of complex maritime platforms. The latest recognition underscores the shipyard’s continued commitment to building a resilient domestic supply chain while expanding the role of Indian industry in the country’s defence production ecosystem.
