GT Lines has announced the introduction of its new weekly maritime service, the India–Gulf Express (GIX), set to commence on December 17, 2025. The service aims to strengthen trade connectivity between West India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region by leveraging Gulftainer’s extensive port and logistics infrastructure.
The GIX service offers direct weekly sailings from West Indian ports to key Middle East Gulf gateways, enhancing supply chain efficiency through integrated terminals, bonded logistics hubs, and dedicated trucking networks. It also strengthens regional network connectivity across major Gulf ports.
The service will be operated with three vessels, each with a capacity of 2,174 TEUs, running on a 21-day rotation. With a comprehensive India–Gulf coverage, the service promises competitive transit times, including a five-day connection from Mundra to Sharjah.
Port rotation includes: Nhava Sheva, Hazira, Mundra, Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali, Sharjah, Bahrain, and Hamad.
The launch of the GIX service marks a significant step in boosting maritime trade efficiency and strengthening India–Gulf logistics corridors.
