In a significant step toward accelerating India’s maritime green transition, Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman of Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), inaugurated a two-day workshop titled “Desalination – Travel through Time & Notable Developments in the Field of Green Transition.” The event was held at DPA’s Admin Building in collaboration with CSIR–Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI).

The workshop brought together representatives from major ports, industry experts, and DPA officials and employees, creating a platform for technical knowledge-sharing on sustainable water and energy solutions.

A highlight of the event was a live demonstration of advanced seawater electrolyzer and desalination technology, offering participants a first-hand view of innovations poised to transform water management in coastal and industrial ecosystems. The cutting-edge showcase captivated attendees, underlining the growing role of science-led solutions in supporting India’s environmental and energy goals.

The initiative reinforces DPA’s commitment to sustainable port development and showcases the growing collaboration between scientific institutions and maritime authorities in building a greener future.
