Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (HCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (CSL), achieved another key milestone with the successful launch of its 40T Bollard Pull Tug I H Blue Mackerel on 05 December 2025.
The tug, built for M/s Industrial Handling Private Limited (IHPL), was ceremonially launched by Mrs Ria Nandi Ghai. The event was graced by Shri Sreejith K. Narayanan, CEO, HCSL; RAdm Subir Mukherjee (IN Retd.), Senior Strategic Advisor; Shri Harikumar K., GM, CSL; Shri Ranit Nandi, Director, IHPL; Shri Debashish Saha, Head IRS Kolkata; along with the COO & CFO, HCSL and several distinguished guests.
Designed to deliver robust performance with a 40-tonne bollard pull, I H Blue Mackerel highlights HCSL’s growing capabilities in building high-quality tugboats for the maritime and port sectors. The launch reinforces CSL Group’s commitment to strengthening India’s shipbuilding ecosystem and supporting private sector maritime infrastructure requirements.
The vessel will undergo final outfitting and sea trials before being delivered to IHPL.
