HMM has reported a revenue of KRW 2.7 trillion ($1.8 billion) for the third quarter of 2025, with a net profit of KRW 304 billion and an operating profit of KRW 297 billion ($220 million).

For the first nine months of the year, cumulative revenue reached KRW 8.2 trillion ($6.07 billion), net profit totalled KRW 1.5 trillion ($1.11 billion), and operating profit stood at KRW 1.1 trillion ($815 million).

Despite declining freight rates, HMM maintained a stable operating margin of 11 per cent, reflecting ongoing efforts in cost optimisation and operational efficiency.

The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) averaged 1,481 points in the third quarter, down 52 per cent from 3,082 points in the same period of 2024.

Market conditions are expected to remain subdued in the fourth quarter, reflecting the seasonal slowdown and uncertainty surrounding US tariff policies.

In response, HMM is optimising its network by adjusting port calls and vessel deployment across trade lanes.

The company is prioritising higher-yield cargo segments, including reefer, out-of-gauge, and other specialised shipments, while exploring new trade routes to strengthen profitability.
