Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL) has successfully transported five massive Over-Dimensional Cargoes (ODCs) — integral Oxidizer units for its upcoming Phenol and Acetone Project — to its plant in Haldia. The complex movement marks a major milestone in the development of HPL’s state-of-the-art chemical facility, further strengthening India’s domestic specialty chemical manufacturing capabilities.

The operation, planned with precision and executed during night hours to minimize public inconvenience, ensured safe transit and minimal disruption.

Expressing gratitude for the extensive coordination involved, HPL acknowledged the vital support of the South Eastern Railway, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Port, Purba Medinipur District Police, Haldia Sub-divisional Police, WBSEDCL, District Magistrate & Collector Office – Purba Medinipur, Haldia Development Authority (HDA), WBSETCL, local administration, contractors, and the people of Haldia.

This successful cargo movement underscores HPL’s commitment to safety, operational excellence, and sustainable industrial growth. The upcoming Phenol and Acetone facility is expected to play a pivotal role in reducing import dependence and powering industrial progress in West Bengal.

HPL remains dedicated to driving Haldia’s growth and contributing to the state’s industrial prosperity.
