India and Bangladesh have taken a significant step forward in strengthening their cross-border relations with an agreement to bolster infrastructure and operational efficiency at their land ports. This development emerged during the 6th Subgroup meeting between the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) and the Bangladesh Land Port Authority (BLPA), aiming to foster regional connectivity and trade.
The meeting, led by Sanjeev Gupta from India and Tahmina Yeasmin from Bangladesh, engaged in robust discussions centered around enhancing port facilities, expediting export cargo clearance, and implementing unified operational strategies for land ports. Both sides emphasized the need to advance mutual trade interests and regional economic goals.
Key agenda items included progressing infrastructure projects at specific ports, facilitating Bangladeshi trucks transiting to neighboring countries, and establishing 24/7 operational capabilities for strategic ports. Through these efforts, India and Bangladesh aim to reinforce bilateral ties and achieve collaborative regional growth.
