In a bid to modernize and enhance its postal services, the Indian government has announced a comprehensive business process reengineering exercise for India Post. Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia unveiled the initiative on Wednesday, highlighting a strategic shift towards a more digital and efficient service framework.

Currently operating 1.64 lakh post offices nationwide, India Post has seen significant expansion under the Modi government over the past 11 years, Scindia noted during a session in the Lok Sabha.

The minister emphasized that the reengineering process will integrate advanced automation technologies, aiming to transform India Post into a leading global logistics carrier, known for timely deliveries and citizen-centric services.

This move is expected to streamline operations, improve service quality, and strengthen India Post’s role in the country’s evolving digital economy.
