India has taken a major step toward cleaner railway operations with the trial of its first hydrogen-powered train on the Delhi–Jind route, marking a significant milestone in the country’s push for sustainable transportation.
The hydrogen train is being tested as part of efforts to reduce dependence on conventional fuels and lower carbon emissions in the rail sector. Powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology, the train is expected to offer a cleaner alternative by producing minimal emissions compared with traditional diesel-powered trains.
