Japanese logistics major Yamato Holdings has strengthened its presence in India with the inauguration of a large, state-of-the-art logistics centre, marking a significant step in its India growth strategy.

The new facility is designed to support end-to-end logistics operations, including warehousing, distribution, and value-added services, aimed at serving sectors such as e-commerce, manufacturing, automotive, and consumer goods. Equipped with modern automation, advanced inventory management systems, and sustainable infrastructure features, the centre is expected to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce delivery timelines across key Indian markets.

Yamato said the investment reflects its confidence in India’s fast-growing logistics and e-commerce ecosystem, driven by rising domestic consumption, expanding manufacturing under the “Make in India” initiative, and increasing demand for reliable last-mile delivery solutions.

The company also highlighted that the new centre will create significant employment opportunities and facilitate technology and best-practice transfer from Japan to India’s logistics sector.

With this development, Yamato aims to scale up its India operations, strengthen multimodal connectivity, and position itself as a long-term logistics partner for global and Indian enterprises operating in the country.
