Jasmeet Singh Bindra has taken charge as the Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority, marking a new leadership appointment at one of India’s key major ports. His appointment comes as the port continues to focus on cargo growth, infrastructure expansion, and operational modernisation.

Bindra is expected to oversee ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing port efficiency, improving multimodal connectivity, and strengthening the port’s position as a major gateway for bulk, container, and energy cargo. The port authority has been actively investing in mechanisation, digital systems, and capacity augmentation to support rising trade volumes.

Visakhapatnam Port Authority plays a significant role in handling commodities such as iron ore, coal, crude oil, fertilizers, containers, and project cargo. The port has also been expanding its logistics ecosystem through improved rail and road connectivity and coastal shipping initiatives.

Industry stakeholders expect the new leadership to further accelerate strategic development projects and support the port’s long-term growth objectives amid increasing maritime trade activity in India.
