Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) recorded an impressive performance in October 2026, handling 8.65 lakh TEUs of container traffic and 10.12 million tonnes of total cargo, registering year-on-year growth of 27.05% and 19.08%, respectively, compared to October 2025.
During the April–October 2026 period, JNPA handled 55.26 lakh TEUs of containers and 66.39 million tonnes of total cargo, marking growth of 18.99% and 14.20%, respectively, over the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Adding to this achievement, Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Private Limited (BMCTPL), operated by PSA Mumbai, recorded its highest-ever monthly container throughput of 312,179 TEUs in October 2026, surpassing its previous record of 303,032 TEUs achieved in August 2026.
The strong performance reflects JNPA’s continued growth momentum, operational efficiency and the increasing contribution of its terminal operators to India’s maritime trade.
