JSW Infrastructure Ltd reported an 11 per cent year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to ₹328.23 crore for the September quarter of FY27, primarily due to the impact of unrealised foreign exchange losses arising from the depreciation of the rupee.
The company had posted a consolidated net profit of ₹368.81 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year, according to its exchange filing.
Despite the decline in profitability, JSW Infrastructure recorded a significant increase in total income, which rose to ₹1,669.47 crore from ₹1,372.31 crore a year earlier. However, total expenses surged to ₹1,238.34 crore during the quarter, compared with ₹909.02 crore in the year-ago period.
Domestic Cargo Volumes Rise 8%
JSW Infrastructure said cargo volumes across its Indian operations grew 8 per cent year-on-year to 29.4 million tonnes during the quarter, reflecting continued growth in its port operations.
The company is also strengthening its presence in container handling on India’s eastern coast. It has executed a 30-year concession agreement for the 13-million-tonne-per-annum (MTPA) Kolkata Outer Container Terminal, marking a significant addition to its container port portfolio.
In addition, the company commenced interim operations at the 6.3 MTPA Kolkata Container Terminal, which was awarded in July 2025. The interim operations are intended to support cargo volume growth ahead of the terminal’s full-scale commissioning.
Expands Multimodal Logistics Network
JSW Infrastructure has also secured a Letter of Acceptance for developing a Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal at Kulipalaiyam in Tamil Nadu. The project will expand the company’s logistics network to eight facilities across five states, strengthening its integrated multimodal cargo-handling capabilities.
The expansion aligns with the company’s strategy of broadening its presence beyond port operations and developing logistics infrastructure to support cargo movement across multiple transport modes.
Strengthens Port and Global Operations
Part of the JSW Group, JSW Infrastructure is India’s second-largest private commercial port operator. It operates 13 strategically located port concessions along the country’s eastern and western coasts, comprising seaports and terminals.
Its international operations include a liquid tank storage terminal with a capacity of 465,000 cubic metres and two operations and maintenance contracts for port terminals in the United Arab Emirates.
The company’s ongoing investments in container terminals and multimodal logistics facilities are aimed at expanding cargo-handling capacity, diversifying its revenue streams and strengthening its position in India’s evolving port and logistics sector.
