Jubail Port has officially commenced operations at its new container terminal, marking a significant step in enhancing Saudi Arabia’s port infrastructure and logistics capabilities.

The terminal is designed to handle growing container volumes and improve cargo efficiency, supporting the Kingdom’s expanding industrial base, particularly in the petrochemical and manufacturing sectors centered around Jubail Industrial City.

Equipped with modern handling equipment and advanced digital systems, the facility is expected to streamline vessel turnaround times and optimize yard operations. The development will also strengthen connectivity between Jubail and key global trade routes, offering shipping lines and logistics providers improved service options.

Industry experts note that the launch of container operations at Jubail Port complements Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to diversify its economy and position itself as a regional logistics hub under its Vision 2030 initiative.

The terminal is anticipated to ease pressure on other major ports in the region by providing additional capacity and alternative routing options for cargo, particularly for shipments linked to industrial projects in the Eastern Province.

With the start of operations, Jubail Port is set to play a more prominent role in containerized trade, supporting both imports of raw materials and exports of finished goods, while enhancing overall supply chain efficiency in the Gulf region.
