Seehafen Wismar has selected Kalmar heavy terminal tractors and full maintenance services to support its operations.

Kalmar has agreed to provide five Kalmar heavy terminal tractors to Seehafen Wismar, a German marine terminal operator.

The deal, which includes a four-year Kalmar Complete Care service agreement, was placed in Kalmar’s Q4 2024 order intake, with the machines planned for delivery in Q2 2025.

Wismar Seaport, Germany’s southernmost Baltic Sea port, is well-positioned to facilitate cargo flows in the Baltic Sea, Germany, and throughout Europe.

The port has strong road, rail, and marine links and handles around eight million tonnes of cargo yearly.

Wismar Seaport’s equipment fleet comprises Kalmar terminal tractors, as well as electric and diesel-powered forklifts.

Among other things, the large terminal tractors deliver logs on trailers between the port and the nearby sawmill.

Michael Kremp, Managing Director, Seehafen Wismar, said: “Kalmar has proven to be a reliable long-term partner, supporting us with high-quality equipment solutions backed by excellent local support on site.

“The new terminal tractors will be a welcome addition to our fleet as we seek to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of the services we offer to our customers.”

In September, Kalmar reached a deal with Super Terminais Comércio e Indústria LTDA (Super Terminais) to provide additional equipment and services for its Manaus terminal in northern Brazil.
