    The Urban Official Language Implementation Committee (NARAKAS), Kandla/Gandhidham (Code-262), has been selected for the Narakas Encouragement Award in the ‘Commendable’ category for 2025-26 by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

    The award was presented during the 6th All India Official Language Conference held in Navi Mumbai. The Kandla/Gandhidham committee was selected from among 592 City Official Language Implementation Committees across the country. This is the first time the committee has received the honour.

    Shri Yogesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), received the award on behalf of the committee.

    Congratulating the achievement, Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, Chairman, NARAKAS Kandla/Gandhidham and Deendayal Port Authority, extended his greetings to all 43 member offices of NARAKAS Kandla/Gandhidham and the officers and staff of DPA.

    He called upon officers and employees of all member offices and Deendayal Port Authority to make greater use of Hindi in official work, ensure effective implementation of the Official Language Policy, and continuously promote the use of Hindi in administrative activities.
