Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Limited (KMEW) has secured a new work order from Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) for excavation and dredging activities at the Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) cargo handling facilities in the Bunder Basin. The contract, valued at ₹91.85 lakh (inclusive of taxes), focuses on dredging near the South Wharf to facilitate the smooth movement of Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC).

The project scope includes the removal of sand, silt, clay, and mixed soils from designated Ro-Ro pockets, with disposal of the excavated material at a pre-identified location outside the port premises. KMEW plans to deploy its in-house dredging fleet and equipment to ensure operational efficiency and optimal asset utilization.

Sujay Kewalramani, CEO of KMEW, said, “This work order strengthens our relationship with Deendayal Port, a key maritime hub in India. As we enter our second decade of operations, we remain committed to delivering high-quality marine infrastructure services. Our experienced team and well-equipped fleet are ready to execute this assignment efficiently and professionally.”

The contract aligns with KMEW’s strategy to expand its footprint in core port infrastructure, enhance asset utilization, and reinforce its position as a trusted marine engineering service provider.

Founded in 2015, KMEW specializes in marine crafts, dredging, ship repair and refits, and offers services including hydrographic surveys, vessel maintenance support, and turnkey marine infrastructure projects across multiple Indian ports.
