Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Heavy Engineering division has successfully manufactured and dispatched one of the world’s heaviest hydrotreating reactors, weighing 1,751 metric tons, from its A M Naik Heavy Engineering Complex in Hazira, Gujarat. The reactor is destined for the Antonio Dovali Jaime Refinery in Salina Cruz, Mexico.

The unit, essential for refining processes such as removing nitrogen and sulphur compounds from hydrocarbon streams, incorporates sophisticated CrMo-V metallurgy and is based on technology developed by France-headquartered Axens. The project completion in a record time of 15 months is a testament to L&T’s adoption of high-tech engineering, Industry 4.0 manufacturing capabilities, and stringent quality standards.

Mr. Anil V Parab, Whole-time Director & Sr Executive Vice President – L&T Heavy Engineering & L&T Valves, remarked on the occasion, “We are thankful to our customer for their continued trust, demonstrated through back-to-back orders for critical equipment. Our team’s ability to deliver such complex projects rapidly underscores our commitment to excellence and timely delivery.”
