Mid-tier IT services firm LTM has opened a Global Delivery and AI Competency Centre in Kolkata, expanding its engineering and technology operations in eastern India.
The new centre is part of LTM’s strategy to strengthen its global delivery network and develop artificial intelligence capabilities closer to India’s key talent hubs, the company said in a statement.
The facility was inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari in the presence of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Chairman and Managing Director S.N. Subrahmanyan, along with senior company executives and other dignitaries.
LTM said the Kolkata centre will support its global delivery operations and AI initiatives while creating employment and professional development opportunities for technology professionals in West Bengal and neighbouring states.
“Kolkata’s deep talent pool, strong academic heritage and growing digital ecosystem make it a strategic location for LTM,” Lambu said.
The centre will focus on collaboration, innovation and technology delivery for global clients, while supporting the development of skills aligned with AI-led technologies.
The investment is also part of the wider L&T Group’s efforts to expand its technology footprint beyond traditional IT hubs and tap into talent available in emerging centres across India.
Subrahmanyan said the expansion reflected the group’s continued investment in India’s growth and its commitment to creating opportunities for local communities.
Kolkata’s strong educational base, skilled workforce and expanding digital infrastructure were among the key factors behind the selection of the city, LTM said.
Adhikari welcomed the investment, saying it would create new opportunities for young professionals and contribute to strengthening West Bengal’s technology ecosystem.
The Kolkata facility will complement LTM’s wider delivery network in India as the company continues to invest in regional centres, digital infrastructure and workplaces to support its workforce and global customers.
