Maersk introduces an innovative transport solution connecting the growing Tunisian market to its mainliner services spanning Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
This recently launched weekly service operates with a dedicated ro-ro vessel, linking the Port of Rades in Tunisia to the hub port of Cagliari in Italy.
Notably, the service strengthens the connection between Morocco and Tunisia, with the ro-ro vessel departing from Tunis Rades every Friday evening, making stops in Cagliari on Saturday, and seamlessly linking with the hub port in Tangier on Thursday.
In ensuring a streamlined and dependable logistics network in Tunisia, Maersk has implemented a comprehensive suite of value-added services. These include a bonded warehouse, airfreight options, less than container load cargo (LCL) services, as well as supply chain and fourth-party logistics (4PL) solutions.
Additionally, integrated logistics services aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction encompass customs services, inland transportation, insurance provisions, depot services, and cold chain logistics.
“Our new offering is reducing the transit times to and from Tunisia significantly while also adding reliability and efficiency to the supply chains of our customers in this important market. This new solution will also allow us to connect the Eastern part of Algeria as from January 2024 with the reopening of the port of Annaba which will boost the Intra-Mediterranean trade,” commented Ruben Moratinos, Maghreb head of Sales at Maersk.
